There are few things I love more than pizza and wine when the weather starts to get cold, or really pretty much anytime of the year. For this fashionplate it’s all about the za and a fun little rocker chic look based around our brand new Spring/Summer 2017 pinstriped shorts. Had ressies here during the week for a catch up dinner and started out strong with a nice Tuscan red. We decided to split two of the pizzas and settled on one of the two more nutritious crusts for our base. The salamino was a good traditional pizza with salmae. We also got the tartufo pizza which had a great black truffle paste base. I enjoyed both of these. The table next to us got the gnocchi in addition to pizza which I definitely want to try next time. This spot is slightly hidden in Nomad with lots of other restaurants on the block. Not super full, so you probably don’t need to make a reservation during the week. Lots of dates and groups of friends catching up. See how I styled this fashionplate below.

Check out the latest fashionplate at local spot Chuck&Blade. I’ve walked by here many times and stopped in a for a quick nightcap one night but decided to go with some of my girls for happy hour/snacks. This place is super cute I adore the houndstooth booths. We grabbed some wine and had some oysters and mac and cheese. The oysters were pretty good and fresh. See how I styled our Donna tank for this fashionplate below.

This week’s fashionplate features our gorg new Linda leather trimmed romper from the new Spring/Summer 2016 line at the new hot spot Black Barn in the old SD26 space. Clearly from my pictures you can tell they take their wine seriously too! My dining companion and I ordered some cocktails to start, I started with Pear necessity which was refreshing while my companion got a Jack and coke. We decided to split a few things for our dinner. The black mission fig pizza was delish and a great fall starter. We also ended up getting the cheese souffle which was phenomenal- decadent, rich and creamy. We ended up switching to a nice Malbec before our split entree. We got the strip loin medium rare which was decent but not my favorite. I wanted to try the branzino but I had just had it for dinner the night before so alas we went with steak. We also got a side of the fingerling potatoes which were pretty dope. We wanted to finish things on a sweet note and were not disappointed with our waiter’s recommendation of the chocolate caramel bar. It is reminiscent of Illili’s candy bar dessert- YUMMY!
The service was great. Now on to the fashion part of this fashionplate, there were a lot of suits on a Thursday night probably due to the proximity of Credit Suisse etc. So lots of business dinners and more locals in the bar area. See the complete OOTD deets below to see how I made our Linda romper fall approps with a cute little fishtail braid!
For this Fashionplate I combined two of my great loves pizza and wine, perfect for a cold Fall day. Marta, is the new Danny Meyers roman style pizza place located in the Martha Washington Hotel. The space is bright and airy and you can see the pizza makers at work. It’s always crowded and hard to get a ressie, so definitely do this in advance. My dining companion and me decided to try two different types of pizza and have some wine. Red wine and pizza are two of my fav things so we decided to go with a nice Pinot Noir. We split two pizzas a rosse and bianca pizza, the Salisicca pizza and the Tartufata pizza. Both pizzas were very good, but the truffle pizza won out for me. They shaved the white truffles table side and it was creamy, decadent and a little piece of heaven on a plate. Check out that yumminess I didn’t even want to share. The red pizza was a little spicy and meaty but couldn’t compare to that truffle goodness. Next time I want to try the meatballs as well they looked really good.
For the fashion part of the Fashionplate, my OOTD was chic yet warm since it was a pretty cold day. There were a lot of young professionals dressed business casual and just comfy casual chic. I decided to layer my black lace Jane skirt and it make it all weather appropriate by adding over the knee boots, tights, sweater and a coat. See the full OOTD deets for this Fashionplate below.
