The latest fashionplate features the Tasch Mia oversized sweater at midtown steakhouse Butcher and Banker. Made a ressie here with the boo for a weekday dinner around 7 and it was crowded. Although the vault was closed for a private corporate party. Also note that you have to walk through the New Yorker hotel to access the restaurant which is interesting to say the least. We were seated and I started with the Scotch and Bubbles which was an intriguing drink. They Parker house type rolls they give to start are very good and we also got shrimp cocktail which was good. I then switched to red wine for my steak. For entrees he got the veal chop which came with mushrooms which he enjoyed. I got a filet rare Oscar style, which so good and came with asparagus. I love the mini surf and turf combo of my steak with crab. We also go sautéed spinach and the duck fat potatoes, which was like a delicious giant latke/hashbrown hybrid. The food was great. However the ambience left a bit to be desired, service felt rushed and it catered to a tourist/theater crowd. Was so many other amazing steakhouses in New York we probably won’t be back. The latest fashionplate features our Sophia cami made super cozy at neighborhood spot Chelsea Station. I met the girls here for happy hour on a cold day and we ordered a few happy hour wines, only $5, such a good deal. We also split a bunch of happy hour food-pizza, fries, tacos and meatballs. Everything was good and we had a nice round booth. It wasn’t super crowded mid week. We will definitely be back. See how we styled our Sophia cami below.
Check out another birthday edition of fashionplate featuring our Riri cropped sweater at Cut. I love steak so celebrating my birthday and the holidays there was no way I could celebrate with at least one birthday dinner at a steakhouse. My bestie took me to Cut, the new Wolfgang Puck steakhouse downtown located in the Four Seasons hotel. I’m not a huge bread basket person but the gougeres they started us with were great. We also got a nice bottle of Malbec to enjoy with our steak. They don’t have a raw bar so no oysters but that’s ok because we filled up on the bread and then moved on to meat. I go the bone in filet rare which was cooked perfectly. We split the mac&cheese which was decadent and delish, as well as the creamed spinach with an egg that was the star of the sides. We rounded out our meal with the butterscotch candy bar that was sinfully rich.
Now on to the scene for this fashionplate. Since my birthday is by the holidays there were a lot of company, client and department holiday dinners going on. Think lots of ibankers in suits. It was a chilly night so I opted to rock our Riri cropped sweater. See how I styled this fashionplate below.
