The latest fashionplate features the Tasch Mia oversized sweater at midtown steakhouse Butcher and Banker. Made a ressie here with the boo for a weekday dinner around 7 and it was crowded. Although the vault was closed for a private corporate party. Also note that you have to walk through the New Yorker hotel to access the restaurant which is interesting to say the least. We were seated and I started with the Scotch and Bubbles which was an intriguing drink. They Parker house type rolls they give to start are very good and we also got shrimp cocktail which was good. I then switched to red wine for my steak. For entrees he got the veal chop which came with mushrooms which he enjoyed. I got a filet rare Oscar style, which so good and came with asparagus. I love the mini surf and turf combo of my steak with crab. We also go sautéed spinach and the duck fat potatoes, which was like a delicious giant latke/hashbrown hybrid. The food was great. However the ambience left a bit to be desired, service felt rushed and it catered to a tourist/theater crowd. Was so many other amazing steakhouses in New York we probably won’t be back. Check out this week’s fashionplate featuring our Natalie blouse at American Cut Midtown. Everyone who knows me I love red meat, so on a recent night out on the town we decided to have dinner at the newer location of American Cut in midtown. This space is quite large and we started off with martinis by the bar while waiting for our table to be ready. We then split West Coast oysters which were delish. We then split the ribeye medium rare and mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Everything was good, a decadent fall time meal. There were a lot of business types here do to the proximity to a lot of the fiance set offices. There were also a few dates. See how I styled our Natalie blouse for this fashionplate below.
This week’s fashionplate combines a lot of things I love good friends, steak, martinis, fur, shorts and live music. Mastro’s is a famous Beverly Hills steakhouse that just opened up in NY, so of course I had to check it out. Even with a res we still had to wait about 20 minutes at the gorg lit up bar that had a happening scene at 9pm. We were seated near the band playing riffs on top 40s songs which was fun and entertaining. They also have a more intimate, downstairs dining room as well.
Foodwise we decided to split the crabcakes which were solid and have some more drinks, there is nothing like a second very dirty, very dry martini after a long day. We decided to to do a little surf and turf action with the larger bone in filet medium rare, a 2.5lb lobster, twice baked potatoes and creamed spinach. Yes I love eating my weight. The filet was cooked perfectly and we devoured it. We also loved the twice baked potato, I mean how can you not love anything with cheese and bacon. The creamed spinach and lobster were good but nothing mind blowing. I was ready for food coma but we powered through to dessert and got the chocolate layer cake and I had a bananas foster martini. This martini is amazing I wish I could end every meal with it. The chocolate layer cake was also amaze albeit we took a few bites and boxed up the rest.
I decided to winterize our Jade shorts for this fashionplate, since this is a new, trendy resto with everyone dressing to impress. Lots of expense account groups in suits, as well as older couples, on the prowl singles and the like as this is located in midtown. See the full fashionplate OOTD deets below.
