Check out the latest fashionplate at Empire Diner featuring our knit Farrah romper. Empire Diner has been around forever but has constantly changed owners. Now it is owned by the Cafeteria Group so naturally loving their mac and cheese I needed to check out for brunch with the boy. It was sticky humid day so I opted for our Farrah knit romper with crochet back for this fashionplate. We were seated immediately. They were out of the green juice so instead I got a red juice which was still good and detoxifying. He got the smoothie which wasn’t sweet enough for him. The burger looked sick on instagram, I know I’m millennial, shoot me. However it wasn’t very seasoned, I really wanted it to be amazeballs. The fries were solid though. He got the omelette which was just meh for him. Our service was a bit slow too. There were mostly couples and some groups of girls and families. See how I styled this fashionplate below:
Check out this week’s fashionplate featuring our cute little crochet back Farrah romper at the speakeasy resto Dinnertable in the East Village. To find Dinnertable just walk to the back of The Garret East through the curtains and flip the switch for food. We started with a cocktail at the Garret East first which was delish and then made our way back for that much coveted 9:15 ressie. It’s small and intimate and we were lucky enough to be seated at our own non communal table. We ordered some sparkling water and new cocktails and decided to split a few things. We started with the chrysanthemum salad which was solid, although to my dining companion, a salad is a salad lol. The Sicilian red shrimp were quite good and pretty spicy. We then moved on to the baked mussels, which everyone is right and are amazingly delicious. I wish there were more. And for the main course we split the lasagna bolo which was super cute in the individual little rossettes, I need to start making my lasagna like this for dinner parties. It was cheesy and crispy on the edges, everything you want out of your lasagna. Do not skip this for reals. It was mostly couples which is a given. I can’t wait to see if they switch up the menu for winter. See how I styled the Farrah romper for this fashionplate below.
Sometimes you have to have a cheat day and indulge a little. For this fashionplate I definitely indulged and had a decadent dinner at Sadelle’s in Soho. I decided to dress up a bit and rock our Ali polka dot romper. Sadelle’s is a Jewish appetizing shop with bagels, lox, whitefish and more during the day. Come nighttime it’s transformed into a candlelit non pretentious caviar den complete with house infused vodkas. My dining companion and I were seated upstairs at a great table overlooking the bottom floor of the restaurant, such a fab view. I was sticking to sparkling water since it was still Dry-unary. However my dining companion tried the beet cocktail which was fab. The complimentary truffle studded brioche is beyond, I need to get this for takeout and eat 4 loaves in the privacy of my apartment. We knew we were going in for it and ordered the Royal Transmontanous caviar which came complete with rye toast points, blinis, POTATO PANCAKES and all the condiments. I would’ve been happy with this alone as my meal, you get a good portion for 2 people. This caviar was extremely creamy and luxe and all the accompaniments were on point. We didn’t stop there though, we also ordered the pigs in a blanket which were amazing and a great contrast of high and low culinary excitement. As something a little lighter we picked the scallops which were also great. The meal from start to finish was amazing, our waiter and the whole staff at Sadelle’s are beyond accommodating. Definitely a place to splurge for downtown caviar service.
Now on to the fashion part of this fashionplate. Most patrons were part of the fashion crowd and Soho locals, so feel free to dress to impress. At dinnertime this spot is not as packed as during breakfast/brunch so you get to enjoy a nice leisurely dinner. See how I styled our Ali romper and all the OOTD deets below.
This week’s fashionplate features our gorg new Linda leather trimmed romper from the new Spring/Summer 2016 line at the new hot spot Black Barn in the old SD26 space. Clearly from my pictures you can tell they take their wine seriously too! My dining companion and I ordered some cocktails to start, I started with Pear necessity which was refreshing while my companion got a Jack and coke. We decided to split a few things for our dinner. The black mission fig pizza was delish and a great fall starter. We also ended up getting the cheese souffle which was phenomenal- decadent, rich and creamy. We ended up switching to a nice Malbec before our split entree. We got the strip loin medium rare which was decent but not my favorite. I wanted to try the branzino but I had just had it for dinner the night before so alas we went with steak. We also got a side of the fingerling potatoes which were pretty dope. We wanted to finish things on a sweet note and were not disappointed with our waiter’s recommendation of the chocolate caramel bar. It is reminiscent of Illili’s candy bar dessert- YUMMY!
The service was great. Now on to the fashion part of this fashionplate, there were a lot of suits on a Thursday night probably due to the proximity of Credit Suisse etc. So lots of business dinners and more locals in the bar area. See the complete OOTD deets below to see how I made our Linda romper fall approps with a cute little fishtail braid!
This week’s fashionplate takes place at Alta Linea, a cute coastal Italian spot at the Highline Hotel. My dining companion and I both were having a rough week/day and needed to decompress from all the stress. We decided to eat outside on this sunny day. I rocked our abstract silk print Joan romper to keep cool. The outdoor area is super cute and we both started with Dorothy’s Basil gimlet which was uber refreshing on a humid day. We then proceeded to split the frito misto, grilled flatbread, burrata with heirloom tomatoes and fries. I know a ton of carbs and fried stuff but we were commiserating so it’s all good. Everything was tasty. I loved all the dips that came with the flatbread. I didn’t eat the bread that came with the burrata and tomatoes but it was amazing and fresh. We ended up switching to a Sauvignon half way through our food which was also delish. It definitely was a great pick me up meal followed by the nice leisurely walk to burn of all those calories.
Now on to the fashion part of the fashionplate. The service was a little slow, but our waiter was nice and informative and we weren’t in a rush. The crowd skewed between trendy Chelsea/Flatiron/Village locals and hotel guests. Everyone was dressed pretty chic. See how I styled our Joan romper below.

This week’s fashionplate takes us to a place with my favorite summertime drinks- margaritas at a new Hell Kitchens tex mex place- El Original. Upon meeting my bestie here the space is huge and not crowded at all. Of course we started with margaritas on the rocks and my friend got a a Mexican coke too. We split the happy hour trio of queso, guac and salsa. The queso was solid, the guacamole could’ve been spicier but was a good starter. My bestie went for the chicken enchiladas while I went for the beef with extra queso on top. Can you tell I love cheese yet? Both enchiladas were solid but not anything amazing. The rice and beans were standard sides but didn’t stand out.
Now on to the fashion part of the fashionplate. The place is huge so it wasn’t very crowded. There were mostly tourists and a few locals/people who work in the area, so dress veered towards casual or work attire. See how I rocked our Farrah knit romper below.
This week’s fashionplate is a brunch time edition at The Clocktower at Ian Schrager’s Edition Hotel. The restaurant is located right by the Credit Suisse building on Madison and 24th. The restaurant is located on the second floor of this luxe and modern hotel, take the winding egg-like staircase or the elevator to arrive to multi-room British inspired mens clubhouse. I met my dining companion at the bar and he was already drinking a martini, hey it was 2. We then were seated in one of two dining rooms in a sumptuous chartreuse booth and I decided on trying the American Cereal Killer cocktail that comes in the cutest little milk carton glass. It’s a delicious bourbon based cocktail that tastes like a decadent dessert. I ordered the burger medium rare with chips and my companion had the tuna tataki as he was staying on the liquid diet. The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy with a great proportion of bacon and cheddar. The chips were amazing, I’m going to come back for happy hour and have those with cocktails. His tuna was a nice and light starter.
We ordered more cocktails and spent the rainy afternoon gossiping, drinking and eating and enjoying the cozy setting. As this was a summer weekend, it wasn’t packed but the patrons were a mix of hotel guests and mostly late twenties and thirtysomething couples looking for cover on the rainy day. See the fashion part of the fashionplate and ootd deets from my aztec Joan romper below.
This week’s fashionplate is a fun casual spot Mexique in the Nomad area. I decided to wear the shorts from the Christi two piece outfit for a perf summertime look. I have been to the takeout location many times before and this full service restaurant twice before. It’s a large place with a wooden bar and wood table and eclectic chairs and booths. I always need to get the queso here, it’s highly addictive. I also love their margaritas, although sometimes I am that girl who asks for Casamigos blanco with just lime juice and agave for a less sugary marg. My friends all love this place. I love the burnt end brisket bowl, the jamburrito and the mac and cheese. Last time we went my friend got the kale and greens bowl which is very yummy too! It’s the perfect place for a fun lunch or a quick dinner, they aren’t that crowded during dinnertime during the week.
The crowd is mostly professionals who work in the area. See how I paired the Christi shorts below.
This week’s fashionplate is at Hunt&Fish Club, a new midtown steak emporium. Since I was going out afterwards I wore something a little more fun, our blue and white Joan silk romper with an exposed back zipper! The marbled floors and mirrored walls added a very Wolf of Wall Street vibe and really opened up the space. My dining companion and I had a res here on a Saturday night which definitely needed as the place was packed. I was running late as I had a friend in town and was pleased to find that we had a comfy booth in the back. A very dirty, very dry Ketel martini was waiting for me which made me a happy girl. We then split some west coast oysters that were very good. More drinks were ordered and then we settled on sharing the boneless rib eye medium rare, macaroni & cheese, and the mashed potatoes. Everything was super yummy, although no one can touch Peter Lugers and Strip House when it comes to my favorite steak ever, but this steak was juicy and tender. The mac&cheese and mashed potatoes were both super decadent. We decided to forgo dessert as I had to get myself to Tippler and Rose Bar.
There were a lot of older couples and suburban types from the tristate area as it is a spot in midtown on a Saturday night, so some of the fashion choices were slightly questionable but made for fun people watching. See the full ootd fashionplate deets below.

Check out a few glimpses BTS of the new Spring/Summer 2015 Tasch line. We had an amazing photoshoot for some these great new garments on Friday all around Chelsea- the Highline, Gallery District, brownstones and cafes. This whole line is about casual luxury. I will never design something that I don’t actually want to wear. This might not be haute couture and avant garde but I still capture some of those small details while making wearable clothes.
Thank you to my lovely team for an awesome photoshoot Friday, my gorg models Renita Cotton and Whitters Rae, photographer Eli Earl and MUA Gaetane Joesph and my sissy! I couldn’t pull this collection together without you! And also my fab production, pattern making, sampling ladies- Nicole, Valerie, and Joann for helping bring my visions to life!

I’ve been sharing a lot of my new pieces with you all recently but definitely would like to keep some a surprise for fashion week. I love sharing all the behind the scenes stuff and thought it would be fun to at least give some little teasers/sneakpeeks of some of the new garments I’m working on for Spring/Summer 2015. I’m doing a mix of prints and solids in some great easy to wear shapes and fabrics I’m beyond excited about. Think knit jersey, chiffon, silk, raw silk, satin, tweed, suiting material, lace, leather details, suede details, crochet details, slip dresses, maxi dresses, mini dresses, rompers, mini skirts, maxi skirts, jogger pants, shorts, dress shorts, halters, camisoles, racerback tops, bodysuits, and more. I hope these get you geeked up for fashion week, I know I’m beyond enthused. Stay tuned for info on my S/S 2015 show deets for NYFW to come in the next week. Can’t wait to share my whole collection with you all then.
Factory Friday! Spent Friday creating some beautiful new pieces for the upcoming fashion week in September. Working on some great separates and one pieces in an array of comfy knit fabrics as well as sumptuous silks and tweeds. There are some great little tanks, graphic tees, rompers, dresses, skirts, shorts and tops that we are working on. The first step after sketching and sourcing is creating a pattern before the sewing process begins. This requires a lot of math, patience and precision. Check out some pix from this process.
Hot day in the city. On these such days I don’t want to even think about getting dressed when I have back to back meetings, sourcing and then need to meet for evening cocktails without anytime to get home, but I still want to look cute and chic. A silk romper that is short and slightly loose is the perfect thing for these kinds of days. The natural silk material is breathable (aka you aren’t going to be left in a pool of sweat) and thin and the cute cap sleeves are good ventilation. The exposed back zipper keeps you looking hot when you make your exit as well (pic of back below). See the OOTD designer deets below.
Are you Hamptons/Montauk bound or Nantucket/Vineyard bound this weekend? Where are you headed this Memorial Day weekend? Wherever you are going don’t forget to pack some great day to night pieces like our custom silk romper, white shorts and our great graphic tees.
I’m headed out east to Mtk tomorrow and already have packed my custom Aztec romper, white brocade shorts for the obligatory white party, and a bunch of my graphic tees. Girls heading to Nantucket, the Vineyard or Cape this summer don’t forget to order the ACK City tee. I will definitely be wearing it in the hamps too ;)
As we all know I love shorts and one piece outfits, I am constantly running around and is the weather is finally getting warmer, I can’t wear leggings 24/7 anymore. Rompers are so easy and chic. I love this new romper I just made in a luxe tribal aztec esque silk print. It has cute little cuffed sleeves and also has an amazing exposed back zipper in orange. Rompers are now available on special order by emailing email@example.com
Spring/Summer 2015 is already on everyone’s mind even though Spring 2014 hasn’t even begun. Looking at all the fabrics and trims is one of my favorite things to do to gather inspiration for new items. Trim shopping is just as important as fabric shopping. For S/S 2015 it’s all in the details. I’m thinking exposed zippers and little stud details, neon, batik trim, lace, vintage inspired buttons and more. Had a great time checking out some trim today in the garment district. Stay tuned for more inspo and one of a kind items to come! What are some trends you think will be big for S/S 2015? Post your ideas in comments.
