Check out the latest fashionplate featuring our Natalie blouse at Fatbird. Met a sorority sister from college here for a catch up dinner because we both moved fatty food and cute little spots. I got here first and was pleasantly informed that they had happy hour specials going on still. Score. Buy one get one free drinks and half off apps and sides. I went with one of the specialty cocktails which while adorable are too sweet for my taste. We also got the mac and cheese and pork belly to start. Both were fab. We then got half a bird nashville hot style and switched to wine. For sides we got the collard greens and the cheddar waffle. We loved the nashville hot chicken so yummy but the sides were a meh. However the biscuits the chicken came with were amazing. Come for mac, and apps and chicken. Skip the overly sweet drinks and lackluster sides. The service is great and the play great music plus it’s not too crowded on a weekday night. See how I styled this fashionplate below.
Check out this week’s cheap eats fashionplate at Bobwhite Lunch & Supper Counter. I decided to beat the heat while keeping my Zika induced bug bites under wraps by rocking our Suzi tribal jogger pants. I already love the Alphabet City outpost of Bob White’s so have been wanting to check out this West Side location with my bestie. We can eat more if we walk both to and from the restaurant instead of Ubering. We sat outside and because it was before 7 we scored a bottle of wine for $25. This special is from 4-7 I believe. I decided to veer from the classic and get the buffalo chicken sandwich with pimento cheese on it and a side of mac&cheese because yolo, keeping up that bikini bod. This sandwich was heaven so good, I really should have saved the mac for later but I devoured it then and there, washing it all down with our crisp white wine. My friend got the chicken little which was 3 pieces of fried chicken with fries and a biscuit. We might or might’ve ordered biscuits to go to have the next am for breakfast. Don’t judge me ok? Of course leave it to me to get sick right before fashion week. Today is the first day I’m not completely on bedrest so wanted to get the latest’s fashionplate up while playing catch up. Stay tuned for some revised fashion week news from Tasch in the next few days too! As we all know I love my friend chicken, so on a cold afternoon before I got uber sick I decided to catch up with a friend at the newest outpost of Pies&Thighs on Canal Street. The space is a super cute and tiny lunch counter. I’m basically a mini me at 5’1″ so I’m not sure how larger people eat here comfortably, but whatevs I was comfy in my little booth. I decided to get the fried chicken box with cheese grits. The fried chicken was juicy and tender and came with 3 pieces of chicken, an amazing biscuit and the cheese grits were just okay I would try the mac&cheese next time. My friend the chicken biscuit which was also super delish.
Now on to the fashion part of the fashionplate. Pies&Thighs attracts families with children, old time locals, as well as fans of the Williamsburg outpost who live in Manhattan and don’t feel like making the trek across the bridge. As this is a casual place I decided to rock my ultra comfy grey open weave oversized sweater from my new F/W15 line.
