The latest fashionplate features our Riri cropped sweater at my birthday brunch at the Loyal! I had a bday dinner with the boo at Raoul’s and another girls bday dinner at Dos Caminos. But had to get in a fashion plate for the girls bday brunch and check out someplace new. It was fairly crowded for a late Saturday brunch before Christmas and we decided to to get cocktails and raw bar to start. Cocktails were cute and served adorably and were most importantly delish. We got oysters and lobster cocktails both which were great. I split the burger with one of my girlies and it was so yummy. The duck fat tots it came with were unreal. Since it was my bday the gay bestie insisted we get the Sundae set and candy shop and do yourself a favor if you’re with a group get this dessert even if it’s just for the gram or polaroid. I ended up switching from specialty cocktails to a martini at a certain point during brunch because it was my bday and I wanted to get turnt. Shout out to our lovely server Iris, she’s the bomb. Check out another birthday edition of fashionplate featuring our Riri cropped sweater at Cut. I love steak so celebrating my birthday and the holidays there was no way I could celebrate with at least one birthday dinner at a steakhouse. My bestie took me to Cut, the new Wolfgang Puck steakhouse downtown located in the Four Seasons hotel. I’m not a huge bread basket person but the gougeres they started us with were great. We also got a nice bottle of Malbec to enjoy with our steak. They don’t have a raw bar so no oysters but that’s ok because we filled up on the bread and then moved on to meat. I go the bone in filet rare which was cooked perfectly. We split the mac&cheese which was decadent and delish, as well as the creamed spinach with an egg that was the star of the sides. We rounded out our meal with the butterscotch candy bar that was sinfully rich.
Now on to the scene for this fashionplate. Since my birthday is by the holidays there were a lot of company, client and department holiday dinners going on. Think lots of ibankers in suits. It was a chilly night so I opted to rock our Riri cropped sweater. See how I styled this fashionplate below.
This week’s fashionplate features our brand new Fall/Winter 2016/17 eyelash sweater at the new Batali resto in the Maritime Hotel. I love going to places that are close to my apartment and have been wanting to check out La Sirena for a while. After an event I was starving and in need of wine and we found ourselves at the luxe spacious bar sipping some wine while waiting for a table to open up. Once we were seated my dining companion and I decided to try a few things. We started with the fresh buricotta which is a decadent and creamy cheese that melted in my mouth. We also got the crudo which was standard and fresh. I’m a pasta/carb whore so I had to go in for it and get at least two. The cavatelli with spare ribs was hearty and delicious. We also adored the panzotti with leeks, cheese and a brown butter sauce, totally my kind of pasta dish. We rounded the meal out with the duck breast medium rare which was also great. All in all it was a great Italian meal where I needed to be carted out of the resto, thank god it’s a short walk home. I definitely will be back to check out brunch outside now that it’s getting warmer.
This place gets packed so if you don’t want to wait I would make a reservation even though it’s a large space. The crowd is lots of trendy twenty and thirty-somethings plus some older business dinners and tourists. Definitely dress to impress. See how I styled this fashionplate below.
