Inspo behind my line

I created Tasch because I couldn’t always find the perfect tops and tees that fit into all aspects of life.  I only create things that I want to wear.  I love haute couture but it’s not easy to wear in everyday life.  I wanted to create pieces that every women can feel beautiful and confident wearing.  I’m all about casual luxury and mixing and matching different designers and pieces.

I also believe in bringing back business to the US, specifically New York, which is why everything is designed, sourced and produced right here in NYC.  When I did my first small production run in the beginning of the year when I launched my company I worked with a factory right here in the garment district to produce my first 6 pieces.  I’m so excited to be able to continue to grow in my community and debut my first full line!

The Spring/Summer 2015 Tasch line was inspired by my summers and trips in general to Montauk, the Hamptons, Nantucket, St Barth, St Tropez, and Monaco.  I’m inspired by the whole easy, casual luxury.  It’s truly contemporary sportswear.  Some of my favorite designers are Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, and Chanel.  I also love contemporary designers such as rag&bone, Haute Hippie, ALC and Naven among others.

Now for the naming process… I also decided to name all my garments after great rock & roll /punk/folk chicks of the 60’s/70’s.  The Pretenders, The Runaways, Fleetwood Mac,  Jefferson Airplane… From Stevie Nicks to Grace Slicks to Chrissie Hynde to Janis Joplin these women were pioneers and truly helped shape the music industry and looked great doing it.  They all had their own style and vibe which I love.  They all have nailed that effortless cool look that makes Tasch-Tasch so naming my pieces after them was a no brainer.  They embody that casual luxury look that we’re all about.

Hope you enjoyed getting a little behind the scenes look about the process and thought and inspo behind the line.  Have a great weekend!
