Dirty French has been on my radar for a Fashionplate for a while- Mediterranean french cuisine on the lower east side in the cool Ludlow Hotel, sign me up! We had reservations on the weekend at Dirty French and were surprisingly seated pretty quickly, we had heard before the wait was long. Dirty French in the Ludlow Hotel and has a cool, fun and eclectic vibe. I am a lover of all things hot pink and want the black and hot pink curtains for my apartment as well as the hot pink rooster ceramics. We were seated a great table for four and started of with some cocktails and half a dozen raw oysters and half a dozen broiled oysters. OMG I am definitely coming back for the broiled oysters, seriously beyond amazing. The roasted clams were good but nothing could touch those broiled oysters in the herb infused buttery goodness. We also had the Millefeuille, which was an amazing delicate mushroom dish with a green curry sauce, it was outstanding. At this point we switched to a great Pinot Nior that made my night. The crudite salad was also great. For a main I split the duck l’orange and a side of haricots, which were perfection. The steak was also great we heard from our other dining companions. We then indulged in the delicious tarte tartin which was an amazing end to a wonderful meal.
The crowd was a trendy, fashion crowd, we even saw the Something Navy fashion blogger. Dress up to stand out when coming here for sure, my Diana beaded skirt was a perfect look for this fun trendy resto. They also played amazing nineties music which just added to the great night!
