This week’s fashionplate was at Insta superstar spot Cha Cha Matcha right near two other favs- Seamore’s and Goldbar. I was meeting a fellow friend who also works in fashion for a brainstorming and catch up sess and fashion week brainstorming and we decided to check out this very adorable spot to get fully caffeinated. Everything is pink and green and super cute. We snagged a seat in the corner and got to work. I had an iced matcha without milk and sugar which was vvv good and kept me awake. My friend got the matcha cappuccino which she loved. We also split the vegan banana bread and matcha dough’ssant both of which are good. Some people are saying it’s expensive, and while it’s not cheap it’s not more than Starbucks and it has a super cute vibe and friendly service and you can sit and enjoy your matcha or coffee and work or hang out for a bit, a plus in my book. Check out this week’s cheap eats fashionplate at Bobwhite Lunch & Supper Counter. I decided to beat the heat while keeping my Zika induced bug bites under wraps by rocking our Suzi tribal jogger pants. I already love the Alphabet City outpost of Bob White’s so have been wanting to check out this West Side location with my bestie. We can eat more if we walk both to and from the restaurant instead of Ubering. We sat outside and because it was before 7 we scored a bottle of wine for $25. This special is from 4-7 I believe. I decided to veer from the classic and get the buffalo chicken sandwich with pimento cheese on it and a side of mac&cheese because yolo, keeping up that bikini bod. This sandwich was heaven so good, I really should have saved the mac for later but I devoured it then and there, washing it all down with our crisp white wine. My friend got the chicken little which was 3 pieces of fried chicken with fries and a biscuit. We might or might’ve ordered biscuits to go to have the next am for breakfast. Don’t judge me ok? This week’s fashionplate takes place at Philly offshoot High Street on Hudson. Went here for a catch up dinner on a Sunday night. The restaurant was not very full and the tables are close together. I decided to wear our super comfy Naomi polka dot maxi skirt. We had some nice rose to keep the weekend vibe flowing. We then proceeded to split a few things which we all know by now is my signature move. We started with the crispy broccoli which was fried and Asian inspired. This was interesting but we didn’t love the execution.. They then brought out the baked potatoes which we really liked and was made with vegan sour cream. The mushrooms was our least favorite dish. It was too pungent and vinegary, and both adore mushrooms. The long island duck was great, one of our top 10 duck dishes. All in all it is a creative and fun menu although it was a mixed bag with us loving two of the dishes while the other two were meh. I would try brunch or lunch however.
