This week’s fashionplate features our Chrissie black and white cross print bodysuit at new creative Mexican cuisine Temerario in Chelsea. This spot is close to my apartment so my dining companion and me decided to check it out on a low key Monday evening. I love all the cool colorful street art very fun. The restaurant was not very full so we were seated right away. I was excited that they had Casa Dragones tequila so I ordered the Mexi Dragones cocktail that had a spicy kick. My dining companion got a larger sized Nopal salad which he enjoyed. I got a few small things. My scallop ceviche was fresh and very good. I also got the quesdillas which were very good and not greasy. A side of beans completed our meal which were solid. My only gripe is everything came so fast, too fast we were in and out in under an hour which is good during a lunchtime rush when need to get back to the office but not so good when you want to have a dinner out and catch up. This fashionplate combines lowkey comfort and style featuring our Taylor black and white Buffalo plaid tunic at the second location of Milk & Hops in Chelsea. Been here a few times now and love that they have dine and drink options as well as to go options. Even on a Thursday evening the last time I visited it wasn’t crowded at all and my friend and I were able to enjoy a nice catch up session. I ended up sticking to cider. We shared a beer cheese pretzel which was quite good. We then cheesed-out to the max. I got the Mr. Cripsy grilled cheese which was delish and he got the BLT which he enjoyed. I’ve gotten single bottles to go and cheeses to go before, so definitely will be back. See how I styled this fashionplate below.
This week’s fashionplate is a much overdue dinnertime visit to Bowery hotspot- Vandal. I’ve been a bunch for drinks and the club but have been meaning to try the food. I finally got the chance to get there for dinner and it definitely lived up to the hype. I decided to rock our brand new F/W16 Ellie Henley bodysuit for the perfect dinner to drinks to dancing outfit. My dining companion and me were seated pretty promptly in this huge restaurant and club that formerly housed The General and Finale. I love the flowershop entrance and all the great street art. I tried the Sergeant Bell Pepper cocktail which had a great hint of spice and I also had the Lost & Found. We were starving and split a ton of things. The knish reuben was amazing who doesn’t like meat, cheese, potato and thousand island dressing in one neat little package? The hot pretzel tartare was surprisingly tasty and flavorful. The red snapper tostadas rounded out our small plates with a slightly more health conscious app. People love the johnnycakes but we thought they were just ok, would probably not get them again, not as special as the remainder of the items we ordered. The wild mushroom pizza was amazing, orgasm in my mouth, can eat this once a week good. We went with one main, the branzino which was also delish. We probably over ordered by one or two items but yolo. We rounded out the meal with something sweet the smores which you can see got me all kinds of googly eyed.
All in all a great meal, definitely an all night spot from drinks to dinner and then late night dancing. The crowd was mostly young working professionals and downtown scensters with some tourists thrown in. This is definitely a spot to take a fashion risk and try something new.
