This week’s fashionplate transports us back to a bygone era of 50 years ago and piano bars. Sid Gold’s Request Room is an old school yet updated piano bar in the old Tillman’s space in Chelsea. Decided to grab some drinks and a snack with a friend here and I started with a Ketel Soda and he got a cocktail with Singani 63. Being a Tuesday night it was not too crowded and their were some interesting characters singing which was quite entertaining. It was a mix between young and old but everyone seemed to be having a great time. We then ordered clams casino and mac & cheese which were yummy and ordered some French 75s made with SIngani 63 which was very good. The bartender was also very nice and funny. See how I paired my Jane lace skirt for the fashion part of the fashionplate.
This week’s fashionplate is in honor of all things American and the 4th of July. I decided to rock my festive custom stars and stripes tank and grab some burgers and beers at Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer in Soho. This small restaurant has seating at the bar and counter space. We manged to snag two seats at the bar and I decided to hydrate first with a watermelon juice and my friend got an iced tea. I then proceeded to get a Mermaid Pilsner. Who says this girl never gets beer?! We then split the special wings which were solid but could’ve used a little more spice. Then my friend got the All American burger with sweet potato fries and I went with the Texan burger. We both agreed my burger was better, it was perfectly medium rare and I loved the addition of bacon and the crispy onion ring and BBQ sauce, yummers. The fries were also solid and the sweet potato fries were even better. I couldn’t even finish my whole burger and ended up taking the remainder to go.
Now on the the fashion and ootd part of the fashionplate. The crowd was mostly young twentysomethings who live in the surrounding hood with a little bit of Brooklyn thrown in for good measure. They also play some dope old school hip hop which we loved. See how I styled my custom top below.

This week’s fashionplate is a brunch time edition at The Clocktower at Ian Schrager’s Edition Hotel. The restaurant is located right by the Credit Suisse building on Madison and 24th. The restaurant is located on the second floor of this luxe and modern hotel, take the winding egg-like staircase or the elevator to arrive to multi-room British inspired mens clubhouse. I met my dining companion at the bar and he was already drinking a martini, hey it was 2. We then were seated in one of two dining rooms in a sumptuous chartreuse booth and I decided on trying the American Cereal Killer cocktail that comes in the cutest little milk carton glass. It’s a delicious bourbon based cocktail that tastes like a decadent dessert. I ordered the burger medium rare with chips and my companion had the tuna tataki as he was staying on the liquid diet. The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy with a great proportion of bacon and cheddar. The chips were amazing, I’m going to come back for happy hour and have those with cocktails. His tuna was a nice and light starter.
We ordered more cocktails and spent the rainy afternoon gossiping, drinking and eating and enjoying the cozy setting. As this was a summer weekend, it wasn’t packed but the patrons were a mix of hotel guests and mostly late twenties and thirtysomething couples looking for cover on the rainy day. See the fashion part of the fashionplate and ootd deets from my aztec Joan romper below.
